Expanding Our Reach

As the leaves change and fall weather settles in, Wisconsin Art Destinations kicks off another year of its marketing campaign. The Woodson Art Museum is proud to be a founding member of the 16 art museums working together to raise the profile of Wisconsin as a destination for the visual arts by inviting visitors to explore and experience the state’s art museums and surrounding communities.

Wisconsin Art Destinations originally started with 13 organizations: Racine Art Museum, Haggerty Museum of Art, Milwaukee Art Museum, Chazen Museum of Art, Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Wisconsin Art, John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Paine Art Center and Gardens, Rahr West Art Museum, Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass, Trout Museum of Art, Miller Art Museum, and Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. In the last year, three additional art museums have been included: Charles Allis Art Museum, Art Preserve – JMKAC, and Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum.

Together, these 16 vibrant museums offer a wide range of art to enjoy, from Old World masterpieces to contemporary works and everything in between.

So far this year, we updated the Wisconsin Art Destinations website, which now includes individual landing pages for each venue, spread our messaging to both regional and national news outlets, and created 72-hour itineraries for three different routes to help visitors plan their trips to each of our organizations.

It’s been thrilling to be a part of this collective and boost up the arts in Wisconsin, especially with year three putting our market research and planning into action. We are looking forward to continuing this collaboration in the years ahead!
